
Purpose: to activate LED rear lights (Golf 6 GTI/R type) after retrofitting halogen lights (original).
Procedure:
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1 :
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“09 – Cent. Elect.”.
4 – Click on“Coding 07”.
5 – Select the “0” module and click on “Long Coding Helper”:
On byte 18, set the value to 00100, this will set the hexadecimal value in the line above to 04.

For 2009 models (Power Plant version 03xx)

* If your vehicle is fitted with xenon lights, you must update the version of the control unit to 0575/6, otherwise the daytime running lights (DRL) will no longer work.
