Purpose : to deactivate the windshield washer indicator on the ODB (on-board computer).
Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1 ( For models before 2010 ! )
3 – Click on “Select”, then click on “17 – Instruments”.
4 – Click on “Coding – 07”.
5 – The third and fourth coding digits (xx??x0x) are used to modify Instrument module options. To remove the ice-washer indicator, subtract 04 from these digits.
In the example above, the initial coding is: 0027103
To remove the windscreen washer indicator, simply recode as follows: 0023103 (27 – 04 = 23)
To activate the ice washer indicator: +04
Line 2 ( For models after 2010 ! )
3 – Click on “Select”, then click on “17 – Instruments”.
4 – Click on “Coding – 07” then click on “Long Coding Helper” .
5 – Select byte 1:
Then uncheck Bit 2: “Washer Fluid warning active/installed”.
