Passat (B5) – Show hidden menu Climatronic

VAG Coding VCDS ODBeleven VW Passat B5 3B

Purpose : to display the Climatronic’s hidden menu.

Displaying instantaneous digital speed? it’s possible! No need to use your VCDS VAG-COM cable for this tutorial.

Proceed :

With the ignition on and the engine at idle, press the low fan, cool and Eco buttons simultaneously, or the recirculation and eco buttons simultaneously
Immediately on the right-hand side of the climate control display, “diag” (Diagnosis) appears and the options are displayed.

The cold (blue) and hot (red!) buttons are used to navigate through the various menus.

For your information, menu 16 shows the vehicle’s actual speed.

Example: The speed indicated on my speedometer (analog) seems optimistic, at 140 kmh, but the air conditioning,
indicates 134 kmh.

This marked difference is a deliberate choice on the part of the manufacturers.

Other functions provide information on :

– Engine speed
– Engine temperature
– Temperature of all sensors
– On-board computer software version
– Turbo pressure (?)

Depending on the model, you’ll find 45, 65, 72 or 99 menus available (depending on
software version, computer or car model).

These are the codes from the old version. To display, press the recycling button and, while holding this button, press the “up arrow” button, “1c” will appear, move up and down with the + or – temperature buttons. To remove, press “auto”.
