Golf 7 (5G) – Third brake light on when trunk is open

Purpose: to keep the 3rd brake light on if the trunk is not fully closed. For security lighting at night or to make sure your safe is securely closed.


Warning! There are 2 lines of coding to do here.

Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.

2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.

Line 1:

3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“09 – Cent. Elect.”.

4 – Click on“Security Access – 16” then enter the code“31347”.

5 – Click on“Adaptation – 10”.

6 – On this page, at the very top, there is a drop-down menu.
In this drop-down menu, choose“Leuchte22BR MA57-Lichtfunktion C 22”.

7 – On this same page, there’s a second drop-down menu at the bottom
of the page.
On this, select the value“Heckdeckel Offen” and confirm. (Origin: nicht aktiv)


Line 2:

3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“09 – Cent. Elect.”.

4 – Click on“Security Access – 16” then enter the code“31347”.

5 – Click on“Adaptation – 10”.

6 – On this page, at the very top, there is a drop-down menu.
In this drop-down menu, choose“Leuchte22BR MA57-Dimmwert CD 22”.

7 – On the same page, you’ll find a second drop-down menu at the bottom
of the page.
On this menu, choose a value between“0” and“100” depending on the power of the brake light, then confirm. (Origin: 0)
