Purpose: to activate the high beam assistant for vehicles with the Sign Assist or Lane Assist option.
The vehicle must be equipped with the camera Ref 5Q0, example: 5Q0-980-653-E (Golf 7 phase 1, the camera is located at the top of the windscreen at the level of the rear-view mirror, in the shape of a triangle).
Caution if vehicle is equipped with DLA (Dynamic Light Assist) coding impossible (Light Assist already activated on auto lights)
Watch out! There are 4 lines of coding to do here.
Light Assist ” ensures comfort and safety in traffic by activating the automatic high beam. Using a camera, this system detects light sources. Depending on the situation thus identified, it gives on-board network management instructions to switch between low beam and long-range (from 60 km/h). The result is significantly improved comfort and safety.
Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to
the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1:
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“09 – Cent. Elect.”.
4 – Click on“Coding – 07” then click on“Long Coding Helper”.
5 – Select byte“2”.
Then in this“Bit 0-2” drop-down menu, select“03 Lighting: Bi-Xenon Headlights with Light Assit (PR-8IG/8IP+8G1)”.

4 – Click on“Security Access – 16” then enter the code“31347”.
5 – Click on “Adaptation – 10”.
6 – On this page, at the very top, there is a drop-down menu.
In this drop-down menu, choose“Assistance light functions-Menuesteuerung Femlichtassistent”.
7 – On the same page, there’s a second drop-down menu at the bottom
of the page.
Select“present” and confirm.
