Purpose: to activate the “ambient light” menu on MIB2 Discover. This will change the old slider layout for interior lights to the new “Background lighting” menu for ambient lighting. The modification will activate a new menu with cogs/solons to control the brightness of the various light zones (floor lights, door lights).
Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1:
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“09 – Cent. Elect.”.
4 – Click on“Security Access – 16” then enter the code“31347”.
5 – Click on“Adaptation – 10”.
6 – On this page, at the very top, there is a drop-down menu.
In this drop-down menu, choose the channel corresponding to activate the “Ambient lighting” menu in the MIB parameters:
Channel:“Interior light: light configuration-Ambientemenue mit alle Zonen” (Interior light: light configuration-Ambientemenue with all zones)
7 – On the same page, there’s a second drop-down menu at the bottom
of the page.
Select“active” and confirm.

5 – Click on“Adaptation – 10”.
6 – On this page, at the very top, there is a drop-down menu.

7 – On the same page, you’ll find a second drop-down menu at the bottom
of the page.
On this menu, select“active” and confirm.
Line 3 (optional) :
For pre-facelift vehicles, if the Background lighting menu doesn’t show an image, you can try changing the vehicle configuration to facelift and see if this works.
3 – Click on“Select” then click on“5F – Electr. information”.
4 – Click on “Coding – 07” then click on“Long Coding Helper”
5 – Choose byte“02”
Then check Bit 04 “Car Derivate Supplement”.
