Purpose: To enable installation of the RNS 510 to replace the original RCD-310 (retrofit).
Procedure:
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1 (RNS-510 activation in Gateway) :
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“19-Gateway CAN”.
4 – Click on“Installation List”.
5 – Check “37- Navigation
Click on “Save coding
Line 2 (Media-in activation):
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“37 – Navigation”.
4 – Click on“Coding 07”.
5 – Select Byte 0
Bit 2: Check “AUX-Input Connection Monitoring active”.
Line 3 (RNS-510 without Dynaudio):
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“37 – Navigation”.
4 – Click on“Coding 07”.
5 – Select Byte 1
Bit 0-7 : Select “00 Sound System not installed”.
Line 4 (Original speakers):
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“37 – Navigation”.
4 – Click on“Coding 07”.
5 – Select Byte 2
Bit 0-7: Select “04 4 Speaker Channels (Front and Rear)”.
Line 5 (RNS-510 theme):

Line 6 (Vehicle selection displayed when OPS is activated) :
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“37 – Navigation”.
4 – Click on“Coding 07”.
5 – Select Byte 9
Bit 0-7: Select “05 Optical Park System & Interior Graphics: VW Golf (5K1)”.
Exit the module and save your changes. The RNS-510 must now be restarted for the changes to take effect. Press both arrows and the star for 6s.
