Purpose: to display a compass on the ODB (on-board computer), if you have GPS navigation (NAV), and to change its position on the speedo.
Procedure:
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1:
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“17 – instruments”.
4 – Click on“Coding – 07” then click on“Long Coding Helper”.
5 – Select byte“10”
Then check Bit“6”.
Line 2 (if line 1 unavailable) :
3 – Click on “Select”, then click on “17- Instruments”.
4 – Click on “Adaptation – 10”.
5 – On this page, at the very top, there is a drop-down menu. In this drop-down menu, select the “Navigation /Compass” channel.
6 – In the “Value:” option, select“Enabled”.
Line 3 (to change the compass position on the ODB) :
3 – Click on “Select”, then click on “17- Instruments”.
4 – Click on “Adaptation – 10”.
5 – On this page, at the very top, there is a drop-down menu. From this drop-down menu, select the “Compass indicator” channel.
6 – In the “Value:” option, select the desired value for the compass position on the ODB (default: lower position).
