Purpose : to deactivate the windshield washer indicator on the ODB (on-board computer). (Models after 2006)
Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1:
3 – Click on “Select”, then click on “17 – Instruments”.
4 – Click on “Coding – 07”.
The first two digits of the code (??xxxx) are used to modify the Instrument module options. To remove the ice-washer indicator, subtract 04 from these digits.
Example of initial coding (with washer indicator) : 07232
To remove the washer indicator, simply recode as follows: 03232 (07 – 04 = 03)
To activate the ice washer indicator: +04
