Purpose: to activate rear lights activated with daytime running lights (Scandinavian DRL).
Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1 (until 2008) :
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“09 – Cent. Elect.”.
4 – Click on “Coding – 07”.
5 – Byte 1 Set bit 4 – daytime running lights (North America) active
Line 2 (from 2009 to 2011):
3 – Click on“Select” then click on“09 – Cent. Elect.”.
4 – Click on “Coding – 07”.
5 – Byte 26 Set bit 1, bit 3 and bit 5
So the following behavior :
- DRL: LEDs on at 100% brightness and tail lights off
- Parking lights on : LEDs on at 100% brightness and tail lights on
- Low beam on : LEDs + xenons on and tail lights on
- Flashing: no LED variation
