Purpose : to change the illumination of the hands and dial when the lights are off.
Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1:
3 – Click on “Select”, then click on “17 – Instruments”.
4 – Click on “Coding – 07”.

Note: options 4 to 9 are only available from 2005.
0 – Hand and scale OFF (with Kl.15 on and Kl.58 off)
1 – Hand ON, scale OFF (with Kl.15 on and Kl.58 off)
2 – Needle OFF, scale ON (with Kl.15 on) and Kl.58 Off)
3 – Needles and scales ON (2nd variation characteristic – Kl.15 On / Kl.58 Off)
4 – Hands and scales ON (without 2nd dimming characteristic – Kl. 15 / Kl. 58 Off)
5 – Hands and scales OFF (with Kl.15 on and Kl.58 off)
6 – Needle ON, scale OFF (with Kl.15 on and Kl.58 off)
7 – Needle OFF, scale ON (with Kl.15 on and Kl. .58 off) .58 Off)
8 – Needles and scale ON(2nd variation characteristic – Kl.15 On / Kl.58 Off)
