Purpose: Enables trailer / towbar retrofit.
Watch out! For Facelift model. Adaptation in motor control unit 01 is not accepted for some models. In this case, the coding can be ignored. Control units that are not installed can also be ignored. Please note that certain coding steps must be carried out according to the part numbers installed.
Watch out! There are a maximum of 7 lines of coding to do here, depending on the modules you have installed. Most ECUs have long coding with “trailer” to activate!
Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to
the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1:
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“19 – CAN Gateway”.
4 – Select “Installation List
5 – Tick:“69 – Trailer” in the list
6 – Save coding
Line 2 (for towing hook mounting with double ventilation) :
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“01 – Motor”.
4 – Click on “Coding – 07” then click on“Long Coding Helper”.
5 – Select byte“07”
Then check Bit“3-5” (activates the installed vent)

5 – Select byte“05”
Then check Bit“4”.
Line 3:
3 – Click on“Select” then click on “.09 – Cent. Elect.”.
4 – Click on“Coding – 07” then click on“Long Coding Helper”.
5 – Select byte“18”
