Purpose: to activate/deactivate the daytime running lights in the on-board computer (for models from 2008).
Modification only possible for vehicles with a 30-byte module.
Procedure:
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.
2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.
Line 1:
3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“09 – Cent. Elect.”.
4 – Click on“Coding – 07” then click on“Long Coding Helper”.
5 – For models after 2008:
Byte 22: Bit 1: Check “Daytime Running Lights (DRL) switchable via Menu”.
For models after 2010/2011:
Byte 15 Set bit 7
