Purpose : to deactivate the windshield washer indicator on the ODB (on-board computer). (Model T4/T5 after 2000)

Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.

2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.

Line 1:

3 – Click on “Select”, then click on “17 – Instruments”.

4 – Click on “Coding – 07”.

The first two digits of the code (??xxxx) are used to modify the Instrument module options. To remove the ice-washer indicator, subtract 04 from these digits.
Example of initial coding (with washer indicator): 05142
To remove the windscreen washer indicator, simply recode as follows: 01142 (05 – 04 = 01)

To activate the ice washer indicator: +04
