<p><strong>Procedure:</strong><br/>1<strong>&#8211; </strong> Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to<br/>the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle&#8217;s diagnostics socket.<br/><br/>2<strong>&#8211; </strong> Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.</p>

<p>The coding information is found using the &#8220;Long Coding Helper&#8221; when connecting to the vehicle with VCDS. Before replacing a module, save the original coding of the original A/C module and transfer it to the new touchscreen A/C module. </p>

<p>Transfer old unit&#8217;s long code to new unit&#8217;s long code + Check</p>

<p><strong>3</strong> &#8211; Click on<strong>&#8220;Select</strong>&#8221; then click on<strong><strong>&#8220;08 &#8211; Climatronic</strong>&#8221; / &#8220;<strong>08 &#8211; Auto HVAC</strong></strong>&#8220;.<br/><br/>4 &#8211; Click on<strong>&#8220;Coding- 07</strong>&#8221; then click on<strong>&#8220;Long Coding Helper</strong>&#8220;.</p>

<p><strong>5 &#8211; </strong>Copy the long code (1) (the 30 or so digits in yellow) (on a notepad on your PC, for example) from your original air-conditioning system, then exit VCDS and change your current air-conditioning panel to touch-sensitive, relaunch VCDS and paste the saved long code in place of the current touch-sensitive air-conditioning long code! then exit -&gt; Go </p>

<p>Note: the basic setting must be made when the air-conditioning control module (J301) or the damper motor(s) have been replaced.</p>

<p>Adaptation of shutter end stops <br/>Required when shutter motors are replaced or when a self-check is required for self-diagnosis of defective motors.</p>

<p>Prerequisites for starting the first running-in of the air-conditioning compressor in basic mode :  </p>

<li>Do not switch off the ignition </li>



<li>The basic setting has been made for the shutters </li>



<li>Interior fan motor is on </li>

<p>Steps for the &#8220;first running-in of the air-conditioning compressor&#8221; : </p>

<p>1- Start the engine and let it idle.</p>

<p>2- Go to adaptation and change the values of these two channels to 120 s :</p>

<p><strong>[Select] <br/>[08 &#8211; Climatronic&#8221; / &#8220;08 &#8211; Auto HVAC] <br/>[Adaptation &#8211; 10] </strong></p>

<p>IDE01503-Basic setting operating time for compressor running-in, 120 s, 1 &#8230; 120 you must carry out the process/modification even if it already has the value of 120 s. <br/>IDE03176-Compressor runtime, 60 s, 1 &#8230; 120</p>

<p>3- Close/quit controller/unit 08, Close/quit VCDS, Switch off motor, Wait between 30 seconds and one minute, Restart motor, Open VCDS again and re-enter unit 08, Go to adaptation and re-enter original values, 120 and 60 respectively.</p>

<p>4- Go to basic settings.</p>

<p>[<strong>08 &#8211; Climatronic&#8221; / &#8220;08 &#8211; Auto HVAC] </strong><br/><strong>[Basic settings &#8211; 04]</strong> <br/><br/>Select IDE02259-ENG167462 &#8220;Compressor run/rod in: automatic start&#8221; from the drop-down list. <br/><strong>[Go!] </strong><br/>Wait 120 s (2 min), observe the A/C button indicator on the clim touch panel flashing.<br/>Once the basic settings have been completed, the A/C indicator goes out and the process is finished. <br/><strong>[Stop]</strong></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Basic setting Without VCDS : </h4>

<p>Switch on the motor, then press AC+MENU simultaneously for 10 seconds. Please wait 2 to 3 minutes (correspondence is in progress at this time) and do not perform any irrelevant actions! <br/>Once the process is complete, the air purification and internal circulation LEDs will work! If this does not work, please check the code and whether the motor is switched on! </p>

<p>Then press and hold rear window defroster + AC for 2 to 3 minutes (it will fail if you move away for a second). Be patient and try several times. If you see the AC light on, you&#8217;ve succeeded.  </p>

<p><em>Adjust consumption correction factor between 85% and 115%.</em> <em>(base value: 100)</em></p>

<p><em>Example 1: Calculation based on volume per distance (e.g. l/100 km): DIS: 9.3 l/100 km. Actual: 9.8 l/100 km. (100, 9,8 / 9,73 ? 105,38) Channel 3 will be changed from 100 to 105.<br/>Example 2: Calculation based on volume distance (e.g. MPG is: DIS: 23 MPG. Actual: 24 MPG. (100, 23/24 and 95.83) Channel 3 will be changed from 100 to 96</em>.</p>

<p><em>Example 3: the consumption announced by the ODB is 5.9l/100km, after checking it is actually 6.3l/100km.<br/>Calculation of the rate to be entered: (6.3 * 100) / 5.9 = 106.78. The rate used will be 107%, and the consumption announced by the ODB will be a pessimistic 0.1l/100km.</em></p>

<p>Consumption is immediately modified on the MMI.</p>
