Purpose: To modify and/or customize the home screen logo (Custom Splash Screen) with a personalized image of the MMI 3G and 3GPLUS.

Start by downloading the script file: MMI_3G_3GP_SplashScreen_VAG-Coding.en.zip

Proceed :

• Then extract the file you just downloaded: MMI 3G 3GP SplashScreen VAG-Coding.en.zip
• Go to the “splashscreens” folder and edit the “startup_generic.png” image if you wish. You can edit this image, modify it or import another image, to have your own startup logo (keep the same PNG format and image size 800×480) or an image found in the “samples” folder (copy it into the “splashscreens” folder with the name startup_generic.png.
• Copy the contents of the MMI_3G_3GP_SplashScreen folder to a FAT32-formatted SD card (max. 32GB).
• Start your AUDI and let the MMI boot up, it takes a few seconds.
• Disconnect your smartphone’s Bluetooth if there’s a link between it and the MMI, and remove all your SD cards (SD1 & SD2)…
• Then insert the SD card you have prepared into slot SD1.
• You’ll see green text asking you to turn the large knob on your MMI central console, and the message will disappear.
• Wait a few moments. A new message will appear stating that all has gone well and that your image has been imported successfully.
• Restart the MMI using the button combination that corresponds to your AUDI.
  Example: Press SETUP or MENU (1) + Central knob (2) + Top right button (3) at the same time.

If your new start-up screen does not appear when your MMI reboots, go to the green hidden menu (to activate the hidden menu, follow the “Activate MMI 3G or 3GP hidden menu” tutorial).

For MMI 3GP : Select in car -> carcodingvehicle -> Select n° screen -> set cursor to 0, then restart your MMI.

For MMI 3G: car -> carcodingvehicle -> configuration line -> [standard] 2/5 (Standard home screen) then restart your MMI.

Your very own Splash Screen will appear!
Many images are available in the zip file… both the original and modified ones.

A problem? If the script doesn’t run the first time, try again. You’ve only copied the contents of the MMI_3G_3GP_SplashScreen folder? Do not copy the folder, just its contents!
For MMI 3G Basic: If your image does not appear or is truncated, resize the image to 400 by 240.

Purpose: to deactivate/activate the electric handbrake in maintenance mode in order to change/replace the rear brake pad/disc linings. (EPB reset / Lining change mode)


Proceed :
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.

2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.


To start, set the gear lever to P, remove the electric handbrake on the button and preferably connect a battery charger according to the vehicle manual. Check that there are no faults/errors before starting basic setup.

3 – Click on“Select” then click on“53 – Parking Brake”.

4 – Click on“Basic setting – 04”.

5 – Select Channel 007

6 – Click on“Go”.

Basic Settings: OFF during the procedure, then ON when finished (yellow arrow).

A fault message will appear on your ODB indicating“Parking brake fault” and an LED in the parking brake switch, but this is normal and should be ignored.

7 – Once finished, go back (Done, Go Back) until the program closes.

8 – Switch off the vehicle’s ignition, then disconnect the VAG-COM cable

9 – Change the linings on both sides!

To reactivate the electric handbrake :


10 – With engine off and ignition switched off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.

11 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.

12 – Click on“Select” then click on“53 – Parking Brake”.

13 – Click on“Basic setting – 04”.

14 – Select Channel 006

15 – Click on“Go”.

Basic Settings: OFF during the procedure, then ON when finished (yellow arrow).

16 – Once finished, go back (Done, Go Back) until the program is closed.

17 – Switch off the ignition and disconnect the VAG-COM cable.

Purpose: to correct the fuel consumption display on the on-board computer.

Modification only possible on Mid/High range models.
Note: modifications affect the display of instantaneous consumption, average consumption and fuel quantity.

Procedure:
1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.

2 – Switch on the ignition, then run the VCDS program.

Line 1:

3 – Click on “Select”, then click on “17 – Instruments”. Procedure: 1 – Engine off, ignition off, connect your official VAG-COM VCDS cable to the computer, then plug the other end into your vehicle’s diagnostics socket.

4 – Click on“Adaptation- 10”.

5 – Select Channel 03 “Consumption Correction”.

Adjust consumption correction factor between 85% and 115%. (base value: 100)

Example 1: Calculation based on volume per distance (e.g. l/100 km): DIS: 9.3 l/100 km. Actual: 9.8 l/100 km. (100, 9,8 / 9,73 ? 105,38) Channel 3 will be changed from 100 to 105
Example 2: Calculation based on volume distance (e.g. MPG is: DIS: 23 MPG. Actual: 24 MPG. (100, 23/24 and 95.83) Channel 3 will be changed from 100 to 96

Restart MMI (MENU + CAR 10 sec).

For the cruise control menu, press CAR then driver assistance then Adaptive cruise control, you can choose “Distance” 4 distance selection modes.

2 – Switch on the ignition and run the VCDS program.

For MMI 2G :

3 – Click on“Select”, then click on“77 – Telephone”.

4 – Click on“Adaptation – 10”.

5 – On this page, at the top, there is a drop-down menu.
In this drop-down menu, choose Channel 131 or 07.

7 – On this same page, there is a second drop-down menu at the bottom of the page.
On this menu, choose a value expressed in“dB” (default value“0 dB”) then validate.

For MMI 3G :

To continue, you must first activate the hidden MMI menu (Green Menu).

Press CAR + SETUP for 6 sec to bring up the hidden menu.

Launch the Hidden Menu by pressing SETUP + CAR (for 6s)

DIAG SETTINGS -> APK 0x01, 0x0B, 0x0C -> Bordcomputer -> Check box

Scroll to the bottom of the menu
Select “Accept changes”.

Restart MMI

Press SETUP + Wheel + Top Right Button.
